How it works
How do you calculate the engagement rate?
On Instagram: a typical recent post's likes plus comments, divided by the follower count. We use the median post, not the average, so one viral post doesn't inflate it, and we leave pinned posts out. On TikTok: likes plus comments per view on recent videos, which is a different number, so TikTok accounts are only compared with TikTok accounts.
Who do you compare against?
Public Nordic creator profiles in our database with at least 1,000 followers: the country and niche you pick, with a similar follower count. When that group has fewer than 30 creators, we widen it, first to all niches in the country, then to the whole Nordics, and say so.
What's a good Instagram engagement rate in Sweden?
It depends on size and niche. For Swedish creators with 10–50k followers the median is 1.5% and the top 25% start at 2.8%. Smaller accounts get more engagement per follower, bigger ones less.
What happens to the handles I check?
We only show public numbers. A Nordic creator we didn't know yet is added to our database of public Nordic profiles; profiles from outside the Nordics are answered and not kept. Creators who manage their own profile on Brandssynergy decide what is shown, so for them you'll see their media kit instead.
